The Armed Forces Council is chaired by the Chief of the Defence Staff, generally meets at least once per month, and includes the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff, the Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff, the Environmental Chiefs of Staff, and other senior military advisors.

- VAdm Bob Auchterlonie - Commander of the Canadian Joint Operations Command
- RAdm Scott Bishop - Chief of Defence Intelligence
- BGen Steve Hunter - Commander of Special Operations
- LGen Erick Simoneau - Chief Military Personnel
- MGen Rob-Roy Mackenzie - Chief of Reserves
- RAdm Genevi&egrace;ve Bernatchez - Judge Advocate General
- Gen Simon Trudeau - Canadian Forces Provost Marshal
- MGen Scott Malcolm - Surgeon General
