The Armed Forces Council is chaired by the Chief of the Defence Staff, generally meets at least once per month, and includes the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff, the Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff, the Environmental Chiefs of Staff, and other senior military advisors.

- Vice-Admiral Craig Baines - Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy
- Major-General Derek Macaulay - Acting Commander of the Canadian Army
- Lieutenant-General Al Meinzinger - Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force
- Rear-Admiral Scott Bishop - Chief of Defence Intelligence
- Lieutenant-General Christopher Coates - Commander of the Canadian Joint Operations Command
- Major-General Peter Dawe - Commander of Special Operations
- Vice-Admiral Haydn Edmundson - Chief Military Personnel
- Major-General Rob Roy Mackenzie - Chief of Reserves
- Rear-Admiral Geneviève Bernatchez - Judge Advocate General
- Brigadier-General Simon Trudeau - Canadian Forces Provost Marshal
- Brigadier-General Guy Belisle - Chaplain General
